Download and install FPS Creator

Have you ever wanted to make your own 3D first person shooter game? If you are like most action driven game players today you probably have. FPS Creator is an intuitive and easy to use game development program that you can use to make your dream come true. It will take time and dedication but it is very easy to learn and results can be seen right away.

FPS Creator has everything that you need to make a 3D game built into it. It has enemies, guns, hallways, health packs and so on. The best part is that loads of 3D artists have created a huge amount of additional models for it so that you can set your game in World War 2, Lord of the Rings styled fantasy, a space station, ancient Egypt, modern war etc. and you can also add your own models if you have the skills and time to create them.

You can see one of the latest official model packs in this video:

Ready to get started? I bet you are.

To download go to the official FPS Creator homepage.

Click on the download button.

You will be asked to download and save the install file. Do this and wait for the download to finish. Then find the downloaded file, run it, and install FPSC Creator.

After this you need to update FPS Creator to the latest version. This is very important and will require a new download from the FPS Creator Files page.

Download the latest update. It is usually located in the red circled area.

Once the file is downloaded locate it on your computer and run it. The update is fully automatic from there.

You are ready to run FPS Creator. There should be an icon located on the desktop.

FPS Creator will start and show you its main screen.

Notice the red circled area. This is the game creator store.

If you have trouble running FPS Creator the most likely reason is that your pc needs a DirectX update. This can happen for any version of Windows even Vista/7.

The free edition of FPS Creator will get you started but I recommend buying the program since this will allow you to save your games as stand alone executables you can share with friends.

There are currently four ways to buy FPS Creator online.

1. Trial Pay

FPSC TrialPay

While the word Free is used it does require you to buy something else. I have no personal experience with the system and will leave it to you to decide if that is a good deal.

2. The Game Creator Store

Located inside FPS Creator is the store that allows you to buy new media for your games and an add-on that will unlock all features. You can find this option under the TGC section as shown in the image.

The downside of this method is that you do not get FPS Creator on DVD and you therefore miss out on good deal of extra sci-fi and ww2 models this includes.

3. The Bonanza deal

By far my favourite option but the offer is also time limited to while stocks last.

Bonanza offer on FPS Creator

The Bonanza deal includes the DVD version of FPS Creator and digital download versions of a bunch of model packs. The price is much lower than the regular price if you bought any of them alone.

4. Standard ordering through the website

The upside of this method is that you can chose to bundle model packs of your choice and save some money.

  1. Hi again!

I’ve had a look at this program before, but the cost of the extra model packs has put me off. Does the program itself come with anything in the way of models to create games without the purchase of additional packs? I have no experience of creating my own 3D models (though I do intend to learn blender at some point).

  2. Actually, having a look at the bonanza package they have at the moment, they seem more reasonable, but looking through the packs they give you I do not see many character models. Is anything included along those lines in the core program, or would you need to buy extra packs to have any real chance of making a decent game?

    Thanks, M.

    Good post by the way!

  3. Making your own models takes a lot of time and effort, especially animated characters. There are some who make their models available for free but generally the best ones cost money. At 20$ for most official model packs the prices are fair. They contain a lot of quality models (some packs are better than others of course) and the regular price for 3D models can easily be hundreds of dollars when you buy them for other game engines.

There are some ww2 and sci-fi character models included with FPS Creator. A few with the free edition and more if you buy the DVD version. The model packs are all worth their price if you ask me (I own nearly all of them) but you should have a use for the specific pack before buying it. Some of the ones I have are still not used – but maybe in the future.

I have a small Egyptian themed game in development (in my spare-spare time I like to say). It’s an example of what can easily be done with FPS Creator: http://www.moddb.com/games/sands-of-myth

  4. No, to anser your question. If you by model packs shure it will greatly help, but you don’t need them to make a fantastic game! Try going on fps-files.com or fpsfree.com. I am currently building a game with my over seas friend in europe, And if you tell a few people about a game idea you have and they like it, be in mind that you should know what your talking about ivolving help profit if you wish to sell your game etc they might want to help you make your game such as my firend is doing scripting and making soem models while I put it all together to make a sweet looking game sence he is not good with putting it all together if you know what I mean. Also on a side note learning blender could greatly increase your chance of making a better game and or getting people to help you make a better game.

  5. hey i was wondering if i make a game in fps creator can i make that game to install

  8. a good blog of FPSC…

Someone could help me with a tutorial to upload a video from change levels!! I would highly appreciate!!!

  9. I am having some trouble installing this program. Every time i download it and try to run it, it says that i need to have directx 10, but my computer says it has directx 11. I even used the link for the directx but it says an error has occurred during the instillation. Please help me with this problem cause i really want to use or try this program out before i buy it or x10. If the only solution is to buy it, that’s fine.

  10. Hi Mark! Try downloading the latest DirectX redistributable from here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/DirectX-9.0c-Redistributable.shtml
It includes all the latest DirectX 9, 10 and 11 files for any Windows system.

Also, try updating the drivers for your graphics card. For many this can be done through Windows Update. You can also find the files at the ATI/AMD or nVidia homepages.

I hope it works for you!
